Squash in April, Figs in June: A Season in Our Tampa Garden

Garden.gg Team ·

This is a look back through our Tampa garden journal at the year so far. Harvests came in a little at a time from raised beds, pots, a hydroponic tent, and a porch setup. An eggplant in March, squash in April, figs in June, then peppers and cucumbers through late summer.

Spring: eggplant, then squash

The first harvest we weighed in this log was an eggplant from Garden Bed C on March 7. At the end of April, Garden Bed A gave us roughly two pounds of summer squash in one pick, the heaviest single entry in this season’s log so far.

June: figs

We logged four Brown Turkey fig picks between June 21 and 29, each one small, a few days apart.

Late summer: peppers and cucumbers

The Sugar Rush Stripe peppers in the tent were picked on August 16, August 30, and September 2. Each pick was bigger than the last.

A Quick Snack cucumber is logged under an area named Pepper Pots. Four picks came in between August 7 and September 6, and that last one is the most recent harvest in this journal snapshot.

If you’d like to keep a journal like this, our harvest-tracking guide covers what to record. You can also start your own garden journal for free with whatever is growing right now.

About this post: it covers our shared Tampa garden areas through September 11, 2026. The recorded weights total about 3.6 kg (eight pounds), not everything the garden produced. Photo dates are upload dates, since capture dates weren’t recorded. The harvest CSV has the individual entries.
