Is garden.gg really free?
Yes, the Sprout plan is free forever. Sprout includes 10 plots, 100 plants, full gamification, 5GB photo storage, data export, 2 plant identifications per day, and 5 AI diagnoses per month. API keys are available on Bloom and Harvest.
How do I manage or change my subscription?
Manage web subscriptions from your account billing settings, iOS subscriptions through your Apple ID settings, and Android subscriptions through Google Play. Available plan changes, their timing, and any charges depend on the provider where you subscribed; review its terms before confirming a change.
What happens if I downgrade?
The limits of your new plan apply, including plots, plants, photo storage, AI usage, and API keys. CSV and JSON exports remain available on every plan. Canceling stops future renewals, and you keep paid access until the end of your current paid period.
What is plant diagnosis?
Take a photo of a plant problem — yellowing leaves, spots, pests, wilting — and our AI will identify the issue, suggest treatments, and recommend prevention. If the plant is linked to your garden, the diagnosis uses your care history, environment data, and soil tests for more accurate results.
What is BYO AI key?
Bring Your Own AI key lets you connect your own Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenAI-compatible API key for plant diagnosis on any plan. An active BYO key removes the monthly diagnosis quota; your AI provider charges and limits still apply. Plant identification keeps its daily plan limit.
Do I need a paid plan for the API?
Yes. API keys require Bloom or Harvest. Bloom includes 1 key with a plan allowance of 100 requests per minute; Harvest includes 5 keys with 1,000 requests per minute. Sprout includes free CSV and JSON exports, but no API keys.
Is there a student or nonprofit discount?
We offer discounts for students and registered nonprofits. Contact us at [email protected] with your details.
What payment methods do you accept?
Web subscriptions use Stripe checkout, which shows the available payment methods before you pay. In-app subscriptions on iOS are billed through the Apple App Store, and on Android through Google Play.
Do you offer refunds?
Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial subscription periods. App Store and Google Play purchases are subject to the respective store refund policies, as described in our Terms of Service.
