Terms of Service — garden.gg

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Garden.gg (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Garden.gg is a garden tracking application that allows users to plan, track, and analyze their gardening activities from seed to harvest. Features include plot management, plant tracking, event logging, photo uploads, soil testing, weather monitoring, achievements, and analytics, as well as optional community features — public gardener profiles, The Shed, friends, and Garden Bed guestbooks.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use most features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and promptly update it if it changes.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users
Post hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise objectionable content
Post another person’s private information without their consent
Use community surfaces for spam or deceptive link schemes (affiliate links are allowed only in The Shed — see section 6)
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data without permission
Impersonate another person or entity

5. Community Content & Moderation

Garden.gg has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. This applies to everything you publish through community features — public profiles, Shed items, and Garden Bed notes.

Hosts control their own pages: they choose whether their Garden Bed is enabled and who may post instantly, and they may hide notes or ban authors from their pages at any time, without notice.
Garden.gg may remove any content, restrict community features, or suspend accounts that violate these terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
Any user can report a published note. Reported content is reviewed by moderators, and we retain a snapshot of reported content for abuse prevention even if the original is later deleted.
Repeated or serious violations will result in loss of community access or termination of the account.

6. Affiliate & Referral Links in The Shed

The Shed is the one place on Garden.gg where product links belong. You may include affiliate or referral links (for example, Amazon Associates links) on your Shed items, subject to these rules:

Disclosure is built in. Whenever a Shed contains outbound links, Garden.gg automatically displays a notice on the public profile that the links may be affiliate links and that the owner may earn a commission. Some affiliate programs additionally require a specific statement from you (for example, Amazon requires its Associates to state “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases” — your profile bio is a good place for it). Meeting those program-specific requirements, and the accuracy of the disclosure for your links, remain your responsibility.
Follow the program’s own terms. Affiliate programs have their own rules (such as the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement); keeping your links compliant with them is your responsibility.
Link honestly. Links must go where they say they go, must relate to the item they are attached to, and must not point to prohibited, dangerous, or deceptive products or services.
Your links are yours. Garden.gg is not a party to your affiliate relationships, earns nothing from your links, and does not endorse linked products. We may remove links or revoke linking privileges for content that is deceptive, off-topic, non-compliant, or reported as abusive.
Nowhere else. Product and referral links outside The Shed (for example, in Garden Bed notes) are not permitted and may be removed.

7. Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you upload (photos, notes, garden data). By uploading content, you grant Garden.gg a limited license to store, display, and process it for the purpose of providing the Service. If you choose to make your gardener profile public, your content may be visible to other users and listed in the public Gardeners directory. Notes you leave in another user’s Garden Bed appear on that user’s public pages and are subject to the host’s moderation controls in addition to ours.

8. API Usage

Garden.gg provides an API for programmatic access to your data. API keys are issued per account and must not be shared. We reserve the right to rate-limit or revoke API access for abuse or excessive usage.

9. Subscriptions & Billing

Garden.gg offers optional paid subscription tiers (currently Bloom and Harvest), available on a monthly or annual basis. Subscriptions unlock higher usage limits and premium features; the specific benefits and prices are shown at the point of purchase.

Auto-renewal. Paid subscriptions are auto-renewable. Your subscription automatically renews for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your payment method is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

How you’re billed depends on where you subscribe:

Apple App Store (iOS): payment is charged to your Apple ID account at purchase confirmation. Subscriptions are managed and auto-renewal is turned off in your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial, where offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. This paragraph and these Terms constitute the end-user license agreement (EULA) governing your subscription on iOS.
Google Play (Android): payment is charged to your Google Play account and managed through Google Play subscription settings.
Web (garden.gg): payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe) and managed from your account’s billing settings.

Cancellation. You can cancel at any time through the store or billing settings for the platform where you subscribed. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the current paid period.

Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial subscription periods. App Store and Google Play purchases are subject to the respective store’s refund policies.

Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Any price change applies to renewals after we notify you, and where required we will obtain your consent to continue.

10. Availability & Modifications

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted from our active systems.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Garden.gg does not guarantee that gardening advice, planting calendars, or companion planting data will produce specific results. Your gardening outcomes depend on many factors beyond our control.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Garden.gg shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of material changes.
