Growing notes

- Radishes are a fast root crop — sow direct, thin early to 1-2" spacing, harvest in 25-30 days for round types. - Keep compost MODEST: too much nitrogen produces big tops and small/forked roots. - Loose, stone-free mix is critical — anything compacted or clumpy forks the root. - Round types need 6" depth; daikon/long types want 10-12". - Even moisture prevents cracking and woody, pithy roots; dry/wet cycles ruin texture.
