Growing notes
- Chives are an easy-going perennial allium — well-drained but moisture-retentive.
- Divide clumps every 3-4 years to keep production strong.
- Cut leaves 1-2" above soil; they re-grow within weeks.
- Edible lavender flowers are a bonus — pinch some out if you want more leaf production.
- Over-fertilizing reduces flavor — moderate compost is enough.
